Support Services

We are here to help our students and families take advantage of benefits provided by our school and by various support agencies within our community. Our hope is that all students feel safe, and are happy and successful within the school environment. When needed, guidance is available to help students deal with issues such as, transition and attachment difficulties, peer relationships, grief, changing family situations as well as other concerns that may be impeding their ability to learn.

Programs

  • PALS  – Practicing Artman Listening Skills – taught to Kindergarten students to help reinforce basic listening skills
  • Anti-Bullying Curriculum –  Age appropriate curriculum including: character words of the month, stories, songs and building wide activities.
  • Hermitage Early Childhood Council – A collaboration between Artman Elementary and area Pre-K providers to promote smooth transitions to Kindergarten.
  • Get To Know Artman Day – An opportunity for Pre-K parents and students to become familiar with our school environment.
  • Red Ribbon Week – Curriculum and activities scheduled throughout the week that focus on teaching students to make healthy lifestyle choices.
  • New Student Welcome Breakfast – Each month a breakfast is held for new students entering grades K – 3. A student from their classroom is chosen to be their ambassador (student helper).
  • Outreach Programs  –  Backpack Program, Angel Tree, Holiday Parties, Summer Activities
  • Career Week – One week each year is dedicated to bringing career awareness to our students.
  • I Am Special – Curriculum designed to teach children how to keep their bodies safe.
  • C.A.R.E. Fair – Community agencies provide information on available resources for families. The C.A.R.E. Fair is held during Kindergarten Registration.
  • Chalk Talk – Pre-K parents have an opportunity to talk to current parents in an informal setting during Get to Know Artman Day.
